Exhibition “Primum mobile” Painter Dags Vidulejs’ works for the exhibition “Primum mobile” were created, inspired by the monumental poem “Divine Comedy” by the Italian poet and philosopher Dante Alighieri. “Divine Comedy” Dante dedicated the third part of “Divine Comedy” “Paradise” to his patron – Mr. Cangrande della Scala. Gaining experience, changing his attitude, after performing heroic, altruistic, and love-dictated actions, Dante becomes more sighted, he begins to see the Heavens open.” Social context In the socio-political context of recent years, we have become acutely aware of the darkest aspects of existence. The artist’s efforts to interpret Dante’s depictions of the origin of Time and Space (Primum mobile) in painting and to involve us on the path of truth discovery (the path that leads away from misery) currently seem to be very important – both for all of us as a society and for each individual.
