For three consecutive years, Happy Art Museum leased the glass-walled ground floor halls of Riga's iconic Zunda Towers skyscraper complex, presenting Dags Vidulejs's solo exhibition 'Moving Closer to the Sun' — a monumental celebration of spiritual ascent and cultural dynasty.

Curatorial Essay & Exhibition Provenance

Set inside the glass-and-steel architecture of Zunda Towers (designed by world-renowned architects Helmut Jahn and Daniel Libeskind), this three-year solo residency demonstrated how Dags Vidulejs's monumental oil canvases command contemporary high-rise spaces.

The exhibition 'Moving Closer to the Sun. Family Tree. Young Latvians' explored the transition from Purgatorio to Paradiso: how cultural heritage, family roots, and intellectual courage elevate a nation toward light.
