Curatorial Essay & Exhibition Provenance

Years before global debates on post-democracy and technocratic control reached the mainstream, Dags Vidulejs unveiled 'End of Democracy' at ART MOSCOW 2013.

Using his signature structural anthropomorphic masses, the paintings dissected how financial and political elites hollow out democratic institutions from within — a theme that later evolved directly into the Inferno cantica of the Divine Comedy.
